Tibetan Buddhist Mantra

The Tibetan Buddhist mantra Om mani padme hum is a core belief in the potential for all beings to achieve enlightenment. The mantra’s six syllables each have their own symbolic meaning:

  • Om: Cleanses the body
  • Ma: Cleanses speech
  • Ni: Cleanses the mind
  • Pad: Cleanses emotions
  • Me: Cleanses the subconscious
  • Hum: Cleanses the veil of wisdom and symbolizes indivisibility
